These are tough times for everyone. Young and old alike. I've been retired for over seven years now and thanks to my roots and lifestyle I am comfortable. This is and always has been a simple life. I would not have it any other way.

I live in a wonderful rural Community where everyone helps one another. Young and old. But when I was working - a long drive to the city - there were many times when I actually wondered if I'd ever make it to retirement. I was mocked many a time for the way I live. Old (paid for) farm house. Driving old (paid for) cars. I always found it strange that while they laughed at me - they were always eager to come out and experience time in the country. It's a given now that any and all who wish to share in my gardens are welcome. I think "we" older people are actually in a better position to help a neighbor than the younger ones. For me ~ my door is always open and the coffee pot is always on.

Who wrote this article? You need to either go back to school, or get a better proof reader. That was deplorable!
