Beat Recession With Smart Credit Card Usage

How Credit Cards Reduce Your Financial Crisis?

We have something additional this time around in summer-recession heat that seems to have left people no place to hide! The economic slowdown has altered the life style of people quite drastically. Movie halls, Shopping malls and Super markets are seeing a sharp dip in sales. Blame it on the recession that has set the net wealth of companies and individuals into a spiralling down fall. But that does not mean the arrival of some financial Armageddon. Just like any political or social crisis this economic crisis needs to be tackled not only by the respective governments but also on an individual front. It is more on a personal level as to how you will deal with the situation. Simple measures can help you stretch the finances better. And one such immediate step would be using your credit card cleverly. Read on…

Ask for a cash back offer on your card

Look for cash back offers on the credit cards that will repay a part of your expenditure and also take a credit card that offers zero percent interest. Remember do not make any payments via a credit card cheque.

Clear loans

If there are personal loans on your credit card try to repay at least some partial amount of the loan from your savings to save on the huge interest rates and penalties.

Make early travel plans

If you have travel schedules try and book your tickets well in advance and also look out for discounts on airfares that credit cards offer. If you are flying abroad find out about the additional charges on your credit card usage and also try to pay up you expenses in local currency that will help you save on conversion charges.

Look for freebies

There are some credit cards that offer some free coupons or say some free movie tickets that can be availed. For example on weekdays you can buy one movie ticket and get another ticket free or maybe you can shop in certain outlets and accumulate points on the card and redeem it as and when you need them.

Using your credit card smartly can prove to be the first step to dealing with recession. Your credit card has the potential to make you spend more than necessary but the situation demands you tighten the expenses and you can do just that on your credit card. So don’t hide your card but go ahead and use your card!
